Circumstances

TNPI plans on installing river-stone rip rap as a temporary depth of cover remediation for the exposed pipe at milepost 34.8. This installation will be completed before March 31st, 2017.
To temporarily provide adequate cover for the pipe before the weather thaws. To have this cover in place before the end of the timing window for carrying out work in fish habitat for the project location (August 1 to March 31). The inclusion of riprap into the channel bed and bank would act to increase channel roughness and therefore decrease flow velocities and erosive stress. This should provide cover until a permanent solution can be decided upon and implemented.
TNPI has been in consultation with the National Energy Board and have been providing frequent status updates for this project. TNPI through Stantec have consulted with the MDDELCC in Quebec, from whom we are in the process of obtaining a CofA for this work. TNPI have also been in contact with landowners, and the Ville de Saint-Lazare and the Municipalite Regionale de Vaudreuil Soulanges.
