Observations:
Two pipe joints had been exposed at the dig site. The pipe joints had been cleaned from their coating and sand blasted. The target feature on one of the joints was a dent. This joint had not been non-destructively examined (NDE’ed) yet. The other joint had external corrosion features for targets. NDE was in progress on that joint at the time of the inspection. The NDE contractor was NDT Group. NDE inspectors had proper certifications. The NDE inspectors explained the examinations to be conducted on the pipe. In addition to assess the targeted features, the NDE inspectors explained the MPI will be conducted on the full circumference and length of expose pipe. The seam and girth weld will also be examined with phased array. The company confirmed that the pipeline was operating at a safe pressure for the features being examined. The procedure for ensuring a safe excavation pressure was explained by the company representatives. TNPI provided the following documents and records for the inspection and no issues were identified:

Observation 2 - TNPI Dig Site DL-1.49 and DL-1.50
Date & time of visit: 2018-05-02 08:45
Two pipe joints had been exposed at the dig site. The pipe joints had been inspected and sleeves had been installed on the defects. The target features for these joints were linear indications in the seam weld. No external corrosion was observed on the pipe joints and the remaining original coating exposed was in good condition. One of the joint had been re-coated with Kema tape. Qualification of coating applicator was provided. NDE of the sleeve welds was in progress on the other joint at the time of the inspection. The NDE for these welds consist of magnetic particle inspection (MPI). The NDE contractor on site was SGS. NDE inspectors had proper certifications. Other observations:
